A workshop on Positive Parenting was organized for the second time by Adamas World School at Adamas Knowledge City campus on 25th of February, 2017. The program, where parents of the students of Junior Section were invited, outlined the various levels of expectations and behavioral pattern among children during their formative years. Every child has a unique mental, physical and emotional framework that usually keeps evolving with age and therefore the parents’ way of handling & mentoring them should also correspond to the child’s behavior. The session provided an overview of child developmental stages and effectively educated the parents to deal with difficult situations and challenging psychological patterns that exist among many children.
Prof. Samit Ray, Chairman RICE-Adamas Group addressed the gathering consisting of parents and students in his speech making them aware of the vision of the Group that percolates through all its entities including Adamas World School. He emphasized on how the school’s environment along with student’s support system at home helps shape up his life. It is not the work of a single entuty and both are equally important. Ms. Moushumi Banerjee – Principal, Adamas World School spoke about the shifting trends in education and its tough impact on young minds, and the ways how the school can help parents and students deal with it smoothly. Ms. Payal Ghosh – Consultant (external) was also present among the panel of experts who suggested several easy methods to guide and mentor children that can effectively reduce mental stress among pre-school and primary school students. Ms. Ghosh also answered each of the individual queries being asked by parents. She emphasized on the importance of avoiding aggression and adopting assertive methods to tackle various kinds of behavioral disorders found in children during early childhood. An exciting magic show at the end was the most appropriate way to conclude the event. The parents and students were taken around the 100 acre campus of Adamas Knowledge City which houses Adamas World School, for a guided tour thereafter. The event was a complete success with more than 160 parents and children participated. The kids went back happy and guardians satisfied, after having spent a fruitful day sharing knowledge about child upbringing.
